ProMax X-rays
The ProMax X-ray unit provides a wide range of extraoral (outside of the mouth) x-ray possibilities:
- Bitewing & Panoramic imaging
- Maxillary sinus imaging
- Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) imaging
Intraoral x-rays can be an uncomfortable and invasive experience. These x-rays use a hard and bulky sensor. For gaggers and patients with small mouths, such as children, this new type of x-ray is a dream come true. At our office, we want to give our patients the most comfortable experience. With this new technology, digital x-rays are easier to take, quicker and use far less radiation than traditional x-rays require (up to 90% less radiation). Digital X-rays
When intraoral (inside of the mouth) x-rays need to be taken we are pleased to offer in our office the latest technology available in X-ray technology. Schick Technologies, Inc. has developed Computerized Dental Radiography (CDR) which allows us to take fantastic, computerized X-rays of your mouth with 90% less radiation! This allows us to take safer, better, faster & smarter x-rays to better diagnose and find potential problems before they develop into costly and painful dental emergencies.
Benefits of digital X-rays:
- Environmentally friendly
- No more film or chemicals
- Instant images
- More chairside time
- Reduced exposure to radiation
- Less waiting time
- The patient can be involved in the diagnosis
- You the patient can better understand treatment
DIAGNOdent
DIAGNOdent is a reliable tool to aid in the detection of decay with over a 90% accuracy rate. Even very small cavities are detected at the earliest stage, enabling us to protect and preserve tooth structure. The DIAGNOdent uses a specific wavelength of light. At this specific wavelength, decay reacts with the light (fluoresces) resulting in a higher reading. Clean healthy tooth structure exhibits little or no fluorescence, resulting in very low readings on the display. (DIAGNOdent™ Pen Caries Detection Aid | KaVo Dental).
Digital photography
To better communicate with our labs and other specialists we routinely use digital photography. Using the Canon Rebel EOS digital camera we can take photos of a particular case, download them to the computer and email them instantly. This greatly improves communication especially when the patient may need a consultation with the specialist.
